ACI's reference library, one of the largest collections of Austriaca in the US, encompasses some 8,000 volumes. The library is open to the public Mondays through Fridays from 10am to 5pm and is organized according to the simplified Dewey System. The emphasis is on literature (especially secondary works), art (550 monographs on Austrian artists), and history. There is also a wide range of literature on the humanities, social sciences, medicine, law, theater, fashion and folk art. The music division includes scores, records, tapes and CDs. As a special service, our librarian Friederike Zeitlhofer can assist you with genealogical research.

For space reasons, part of the collection is in storage until we move back to 11 East 52nd Street. The new Cultural Institute will feature a fully computerized library, and we are continuously working on expanding our holdings.
